Mercialys anchors its centers at the heart of communities by promoting solidarity. Welcoming non-profit organizations at its centers enables it to fully engage in local community life.
How we will achieve this by 2030
Developing community engagement: Mercialys supports non-profit organizations by providing them with free pop-up spaces throughout the year. They can thus organize awareness-raising operations, fundraising or collections in kind, such as solidarity collections: "vide dressing" or garage sales are organized there to collect clothes or toys, for example, brought by customers to then be given for the benefit of the Secours Populaire, the Telethon, the French Red Cross or local associations.
Building long-term relationships: Mercialys has chosen to partner with the non-profit Médecins du Monde since 2015. Teams from Médecins du Monde visit the centers to promote their actions and recruit new sponsors. Since 2016, the fundraising campaigns organized in centers across Mercialys’ portfolio have made it possible to recruit some 8,000 sponsors, with total estimated annual donations of over Euro 1,5 million.

Promoting all forms of solidarity: multiple solidarity initiatives are organized at Mercialys centers for several years, and in particular in recent years marked by the health crisis. Welcome units were set up for women victims of domestic violence, liaising with the French Ministry of State for Gender Equality. Mercialys has also supported the “one letter one smile” initiative, which involves writing a letter to an elderly person in a retirement or nursing home. This initiative helps maintain connections with these people, who have been isolated during the national lockdown periods. Be part of the “one letter one smile” initiative
