Sharing with retailers: Since 2013, Mercialys has included its environmental clause in all of its new leases, from the first square meter (excluding leases for less than one year). For the concrete implementation of these clauses, meetings are organized with retailers each year to monitor key performance indicators, such as the center’s energy consumption.
Working with retailers: Mercialys has daily exchanges with its tenant retailers, and aims to find synergies to improve the overall environmental performance levels of its assets. For example, it regularly builds their awareness on how to sort their waste correctly, and each year it presents the CSR best practices applied by retailers in its centers, with stickers or signs at the entrance to the stores concerned and on the center websites.
